Albemarle Area School of Real Estate conducts the Broker Prelicensing Course required to qualify for the license examination to become licensed as a real estate provisional broker in North Carolina and the Postlicensing Education Program needed for a provisional broker to remove the provisional status of such license.

Gary L. Hobbs, Education Director
Long and Foster Elizabeth City
A native of Elizabeth City, NC, Gary retired from the Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public Schools as Director of Vocational Education/ Workforce Development. Prior to that he was a State Education Consultant serving Northeastern North Carolina. Upon retirement from the schools, Gary went to work as a Realtor with Hall and Nixon Real Estate, Inc. and served as an agent for four years. He brought with him a vast knowledge of the public schools and contacts to many resources in the Albemarle Area.

Tanya J. Sekhon, School Director & Lead Instructor
Tanya Sekhon has been a professional educator for over 20 years, both as a public school teacher & administrator as well as being a new agent onboarding trainer & licensed real estate instructor. here in North Carolina. Tanya and her family are new to Northeastern North Carolina but have eagerly embraced the
and can frequently be found on the Little River where she and her family reside amongst the otters, osprey and assorted other critters that make their homes nearby.
What’s the Buzz
PRELICENSING ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
Prospective students must complete and execute a "Certificate" prior to the beginning of the first schedule class meeting. The Certificate, which outlines the rights and obligations of the School and the Student, has been approved by and is required by the North Carolina
Real Estate Commission.
Students must have basic education skills required for successful completion of the course and be at least 18 years of age. It is recommended that a prospective student have a high school diploma or have earned a GED before enrolling.
BROKER POSTLICENSING PROGRAM
The 90-hour Postlicensing Education Program consists of three 30-hour courses prescribed by the Commission which may be taken in any sequence.

Post 303 - NC Laws, Rules and Legal Concepts
Per the NCREC Provisional Brokers can NOT get Postlicensing credit for the new Post 303 IF they have already taken 303 previously.
